A court in the Netherlands has told the Dutch government that it must do more to fight climate change. In a world-first decision, the court ruled that the government has a legally binding responsibility to lower its carbon emissions.
David Tong is a lawyer at the Auckland Community Law Centre, and co-chairs the Aotearoa New Zealand Human Rights Lawyers Association. He's been closely following international climate talks. Tong tells Nick Bond about the Dutch court ruling, and whether a similar case could be brought in New Zealand.
